My friend was laid to rest today, Wednesday, Dec 15th, 2004, at 11:30 AM. She lost her nine month battle with cancer on Saturday, Dec 11th, 2005, at approximately 11:00 AM. As per her wish, she was allowed to pass from this world in familiar surroundings, amongst her family. I wasn't with her at the very end, but I did get to see her one last time before she died. She never lost her spirit or her courage, she fought to the end. She never let fear cloud her heart- right to the end her main concern was for her two young daughters, Jessica and Kelley, and for her husband Danny. These last two weeks were tough, not for Alice, but for those of us who survived her. This world, for me, will be a little less colorfull, less joyous, less humorless without Alice. Now, I take solace in my family, and know that my good friend Danny takes solace in Jessica and Kelley and the years he was lucky enough to have a wife, named Alice.
